Charles Philibert-Thiboutot

During the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend on Saturday, May 25, Charles Philibert-Thibault of Quebec set a new national record in the 10K, running the distance in 28 minutes and 6 seconds. He broke Ben Flanagan's record (28:09), set in Ottawa in 2024. Flanagan himself did not participate this year due to injury.

Philibert-Thibault ran at a pace of 2 minutes 48 seconds per kilometer. Cam Levins of British Columbia took second place (28:14), and Andrew Alexander of Toronto took third (28:17).

Gracelyn Larkin won the women's race in 32:43. Prime Minister Mark Carney was seen in the audience, cheering on his wife as she ran the 10K. A total of 36,500 people take part in the event across six races.
