Canada population

StatCan in Ottawa reported that Canada's population grew by 430,000 people in the third quarter of this year, reaching its highest level since 1957. As of October 1, the population exceeded 40.5 million.

Most of the increase came from international migration, including 313,000 non-permanent residents. Experts point out that this population growth is putting pressure on the housing market and health care system in Canada.

The deputy governor of Canada's Central Bank noted the positive impact of immigration on the economy and labor market, but acknowledged that it also exacerbates housing affordability problems and is driving up prices. In a Leger survey, 75% of respondents agreed that the increasing number of immigrants is increasing the pressure on the housing market and health care.
