New operator will compete with Bell and Rogers

Ottawa, Quebec and Ontario are getting a new mobile operator to compete with Bell and Rogers.

Quebec telecommunications company Cogeco plans to provide wireless services in Canada. As a Quebec resident, I have been using their Internet service provider for several years and am quite happy with the quality of both the Internet and customer service.

Last year, the company began providing mobile communications in 13 US states, writes blogTo.

Cogeco said that it has “all the necessary elements” to begin offering wireless services in Ontario and Quebec. Services will be available “in the coming quarters.”

The brand will be called Breezeline Mobile. Breezeline provides mobile communications along with the Internet, customers will need to buy an Internet package and add mobile communications.

The company plans to use the networks of a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), that is, work on the networks of Bell, Rogers or Telus.
