Construction of 'net-zero' (or 'zero emissions')* home begins near Athens, Ontario

A new zero-energy home has begun construction near Athens, Ontario, by CABN. They build and develop homes that produce as much energy as they consume, thanks to solar panels.

In addition to being energy efficient, these homes are built much faster than standard homes. One customer’s home began construction last week, and CABN says he’ll be able to move in as early as November 1.

“The homes come in kit form and can be assembled in a matter of days,” Jackson Wyatt said. “It’s fast, it’s sustainable, and it allows you to build in really beautiful places.”

The company was founded in 2021 and has developed or plans to develop 30 different units across North America.

CABN offers four home models, ranging in price from $249,000 to $689,000. The smallest model is 540 square feet, while the largest is 1,850 square feet.

Energy efficiency of houses allows saving on utilities.
