Bankman-Fried found guilty of organizing financial fraud

Bankman-Fried was previously found guilty of organizing financial fraud, as a result of which he stole $8 billion from clients.

The founder and former CEO of one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, was sentenced by a US court to 25 years in prison. The prosecutor's office requested 40 to 50 years for him. The sentence was announced on Thursday, March 28, by New York District Judge Lewis Kaplan.

Bankman-Fried was previously found guilty of organizing financial fraud, as a result of which he stole $8 billion from clients. The court ordered the crypto investor to reimburse clients for damages in the amount of $11 billion. According to the judge, the defendant "has not expressed a single word of remorse for committing these terrible crimes."
