The Adventures of Buratino — the Final Performance of the School Year at the Cyril and Methodius School

On Saturday, June 13, the Cyril and Methodius School in Nepean held its final performance of the school year — The Adventures of Buratino.

For many years, school performances have been a wonderful signature tradition of this remarkable school. They are eagerly awaited and attract not only the parents of students, but also many guests who come to see young talents on stage.

Every semester, the students prepare a new production: they rehearse diligently, learn their lines, come up with new stage ideas, and practice dance numbers. And all of this takes place in both branches of the school — in Nepean and Kanata.

The Cyril and Methodius School is well known for its theatrical and choreographic productions. These classes help children develop artistry, teamwork skills, perseverance, discipline, and character. The dances that accompany every performance help children develop grace, flexibility, and coordination. It is especially important that students of many different ages take part in these productions.

Today, we are pleased to present a photo album from The Adventures of Buratino, which took place in Nepean.

One might think this was a classic children’s fairy tale about Buratino. But no! The characters — Buratino, Malvina, Alice the Fox, Basilio the Cat, and other familiar figures — came from the beloved story, but the plot was completely new. It was a creative development not only in performance, but also in the creation of an original story — kind, meaningful, and deeply touching. I saw tears in the eyes of some parents in the audience.

A huge thank you to the school principal, Natalia Mikhailovna Taryshkina; to the director, Tatiana Fomina, who has raised the quality of the school’s performances to a new level of mastery; and to all the teachers, choreographers, and parents who helped organize this wonderful celebration.

A video recording of the performance will soon be available on the YouTube channel “Nasha Ottawa” (https://youtube.com/@MeridianPress). Subscribe to our channel now and click the bell so you don’t miss the premiere. There you will also find video recordings of the school’s previous performances.

And by the way, registration for the next school year at the Cyril and Methodius School is already open!

If you want your children to grow, discover their talents, learn to perform on stage, study their native language, take advanced mathematics and chess classes, and gain additional knowledge and skills that will certainly be useful in adult life — enroll them in the Cyril and Methodius School.
