договорённость о двухнедельном перемирии

A two-week ceasefire agreement has been reached between the United States, Israel, and Iran

As of April 7, 2026, the United States, Israel, and Iran have confirmed that a temporary two-week ceasefire agreement has been reached. According to Reuters and the Associated Press, Pakistan acted as a mediator in the negotiations. The White House also released a statement saying that Iran had agreed to the ceasefire and to the resumption of passage through the Strait of Hormuz. At the same time, U.S. officials stated that this is not a full political settlement, but rather a temporary pause intended to open the way for further negotiations.

Israel supported the U.S. plan for a pause in strikes on Iran. According to Reuters, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel is taking part in the ceasefire arrangement on the condition that hostile actions by Iran stop and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz resumes. At the same time, the Israeli side separately stated that the agreement does not apply to Lebanon. This position was also confirmed by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who clarified that the ceasefire concerns the confrontation with Iran and does not cover the Lebanese front.

Iran, for its part, confirmed its readiness to participate in further negotiations, but said that it is approaching them with caution. According to Reuters, Iranian representatives speak of deep distrust and say that many key issues remain unresolved, including the conditions for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the parameters of a future agreement. In the first hours after the ceasefire was announced, reports already appeared about differing interpretations of its terms and continuing tensions, indicating the fragile nature of the agreement reached. Negotiations are expected to begin on April 10 in Islamabad.
