The sunny weather in Ottawa is gaining momentum, and with it the events taking place these days. Last Sunday, June 16, it was really hot at the Sportsplex in Nepean. The whole day, from 10 am to 9 pm, there was a dance festival, the Ottawa Dance Sport Festival. In the first half of the day, ballroom dancing, in the second - Latin.

For the third year in a row, the event was organized by Natalia and Evgeny Filatov, the owners of the dance studio "Universe Dance Art". The festival was attended not only by Ottawa dancers of different age categories, but also by guests from studios in Montreal and Toronto. This dance festival was not as numerous as, for example, National Dance, but it was organized perfectly! A beautifully decorated hall, professional judges, strict adherence to the regulations, medals, trophies, memorable prizes for winners, prize winners and just participants. This year, new nominations were introduced at the festival for the first time, such as the Team Spirit Award for team cohesion. For the first time, audience sympathy prizes were also awarded. It was the audience, not the jury, who chose the champions of their hearts by voting on their mobile phones. In the final part of the evening, the audience and child participants enjoyed demonstration performances by professional dancers. And what wonderful costumes! And what a stunning atmosphere! Many thanks to the organizers! I want to believe that every year ODSF (this is the official name of the festival) will attract more and more new dancers from different cities.

It is pleasant to note that among the participants yesterday there were many representatives of Russian-speaking Ottawa. They received most of the awards. Bravo to everyone involved in this bright dance festival!
