What's Coming to Ottawa This Summer

Summer in Canada's capital promises to be bright, musical and eventful. Here are the main festivals worth visiting:

Ottawa Jazz Festival
From June 20 to 29, Ottawa will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the famous Jazz Festival. Concerts will be held at Confederation Park, Marion Dewar Plaza and the National Arts Centre.
The program includes the legendary The Roots, Gary Clark Jr., Mavis Staples, the Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra conducted by Wynton Marsalis, Broken Social Scene, Samara Joy, Allison Russell and the Branford Marsalis Quartet.

Escapade Music Festival
For lovers of electronic music, the Escapade festival will take place from June 20 to 22 at the RA Centre. Headliners: The Chainsmokers, Kygo, Subtronics and The Outlaw.

Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival
One of the biggest sporting events of the summer, the dragon boat races will take place at Mooney’s Bay Beach from June 20-22.
The festival is part of the Dragon Boat Canada series of races and will feature food trucks and exhibits.

Ottawa Bluesfest
Bluesfest will be held at LeBreton Flats from July 10-20, featuring nine nights of powerful music.

Ottawa Chamberfest
Chamberfest, the world's largest chamber music festival, will run from July 19 to 27.
Performances will take place at various venues across the city: Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre, Rideau Hall, Tabaret Hall and the National Arts Centre.

Les Grands Feux du Casino Lac-Leamy
Fireworks will return to the Ottawa River waterfront at the History Museum from July 30 to August 16.
Each show is accompanied by music, food, and entertainment. Themes for the nights are:
