OPP lay charges in intimate partner violence case

A 36-year-old man has been charged in connection with an investigation into intimate partner violence.

Lanark County OPP officers investigated incidents reported in Carleton Place between March 7 and June 12.

As a result, the accused has been charged with forcible confinement, menacing and criminal mischief under $5,000.

The accused's name will not be released to protect the identity of the victim. He was remanded for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Perth Provincial Court today.

OPP reminds anyone who is experiencing intimate partner violence or knows someone who is a victim to call 9-1-1.
