A group of students from Holy Trinity High School in Kanata will receive financial assistance from a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing gang violence and ensuring youth safety.

ONGIA has made a donation to a group at Holy Trinity High School. The group is working to end gun violence following the tragic death of a former student at the school.

The student-run "289 to Zero" campaign was created to raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa (BGCO) to support youth programs and advocate against gun violence. The activists say:

"In 2023, 289 Canadians will lose their lives to gun violence. Our goal is to reduce that number to zero."
