The Ottawa - Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is reviewing “hot spots” in a new elementary school boundary plan.
The project, which revises the boundaries of 123 schools, has drawn widespread criticism from parents.
Since the OCDSB’s school boundary plans were released on Feb. 28, parents have staged several rallies protesting several aspects of the board’s largest reorganization in decades.
They are concerned about the potential elimination of alternative schools, sweeping boundary changes that would displace children and force them to take longer, more dangerous morning routes, and proposed job cuts for educational assistants.
