Maniwaki

A weak earthquake registered east of Maniwaki, Quebec, was felt in Ottawa and Montreal today, Wednesday, but fortunately it did not appear to cause damage.

According to Earthquakes Canada, the magnitude 3.8 quake struck just before noon.

Its epicentre was 17 kilometres southwest of L'Annonciation, Quebec, and about 110 kilometres northeast of Ottawa.

As of 1:00 p.m., Earthquakes Canada had received nearly 2,000 reports of shaking, including reports from Ottawa and Montreal. The agency has not received any reports of damage at this time.
