A parking lot on Laurier Street in downtown Ottawa remains closed after part of the top level of a six-story parking garage collapsed.

The collapse left about 50 cars parked inside the parking lot.

At least three floors on the northeast side of the building are known to have been damaged, with snow and debris piling up on the ground floor.

A team is continuing to check the concrete structure to assess the extent of the damage.
