Ottawa is continuing to clear streets after a heavy snowfall that dumped more than 70 cm of snow in five days. Since the first snowfall, road crews have covered more than 62,000 km without stopping, according to Jake Gravelle, the city's road and parking manager.
🔹 Residents are advised to be patient as cleanup will take several days
🔹 Details on the planned snow removal will be announced on Tuesday
🔹 The parking ban was lifted Monday morning, but authorities are asking people to park their cars off the streets to speed up the cleanup
Drivers are asked not to leave trash cans on the side of the road during waste removal to avoid interfering with equipment. Parents are also advised not to let children play in the snow banks along the road for their safety.
The good news: no major snowfall is expected in the coming days. Environment Canada forecasts light rainfall on Tuesday and Thursday, with partly cloudy skies and sunny skies the rest of the week.
