Elon Musk showed Tesla investors prototypes of driverless taxis - a two-seater Cybercab without a steering wheel or pedals and a multi-seat Robovan for 20 passengers.
Musk drove the Cybercab to the Warner Bros studio in style, calling the model "a small comfortable living room." The production of the car is planned to begin before 2027, while its cost will be less than $ 30 thousand. The prototypes attracted interest, but only 50 experimental cars were presented at the meeting, which raised questions among experts.
Robovan will be used for both passenger and cargo transportation, making it useful for businesses and families. Both cars resemble the Cybertruck concept, released by Tesla in 2023. Journalists note the futuristic style of the cars, reminiscent of scenes from science fiction.
However, some analysts are disappointed, as they did not see short-term plans. In their opinion, Tesla is losing ground in the electric car market, giving way to more affordable models from Chinese manufacturers, despite its ambitious projects.
