On Sunday afternoon, the Lady Dive amphibious tour boat, which operates land and water tours in the Ottawa and Gatineau area, broke down in the middle of the Ottawa River.
The boat's captain reported the incident to the emergency services at about 4:30 p.m. The passengers were safely evacuated, fortunately, there were no casualties.
The Lady Dive Tours company, which provides tours on amphibious buses, has previously encountered similar incidents. For example, in 2002, the Lady Duck sank, which resulted in the death of four passengers. After that, the company modernized its fleet and strengthened security measures.
Despite the current incident, the company continues its operations, offering tourists the opportunity to get acquainted with the sights of the capital of Canada from the water and land.
