The capital is expecting a special event very soon: King Charles III and Queen Camilla will arrive on an official visit to Ottawa.
The occasion is the royal reading of the throne speech, which will open a two-day ceremonial program.
This will be only the third time in history that a British monarch has personally read the throne speech in Canada. Previously, Queen Elizabeth II did so in 1957 and 1977.
The royal couple will arrive at Macdonald-Cartier Airport in Ottawa on May 26 at about 1:15 p.m. ET, where they will be met by Governor General Mary Simon, Prime Minister Mark Carney and his wife Diana Fox Carney.
