Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will address the country, hours after U.S. President Donald Trump's executive order went into effect imposing 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

Trump's order went into effect at 12:01 p.m. ET Tuesday, imposing a 10% tariff on Canadian energy and a 25% levy on all other goods.

When it became clear Monday night that there would be no exemption from the U.S. trade measures, Canada vowed to retaliate with similar tariffs.
